"it's the most incredible workout I've ever done," Kelly Ripa raves about her Lotte Berk Method, exercise classes. That's strong praise coming from the super- fit star. So what is the Lotte Berk Method, and what makes it so spectacular?

To find out, we went straight to the source: Tanya Becker, Kelly's trainer at the Physique 57 studio in New York City.

"It's a lot like interval training," Becker explains the ballet inspired workout that involves alternating between "sprints" of aerobic exercise and slow "recovery" stretches. "We change it up every 20 seconds, so just when you think you can't take it anymore, you switch it up so you can take it a bit more. It's an intense burn, but you can do it."

The body payoff: "you get the three major aspects of fitness: cardio, straight and flexibility."

For those super-swamped, the trifecta of fat-burning strength training, body sculpting stretch and energizing cardio is a win-win. But Kelly Ripa points out another bonus to Lotte Berk: "It's a real stress reliever. If I am feeling overwhelmed, it takes that away."

The reason: "When you focus on your physical body, you give your mind up break," says Becker, "You left the fuzz go".

The one move that beats all others

We asked Becker, to call out the movement she would do if she had time for only one. Her pick: thigh dancing. Holds this lifted position, as you shake your hips from side to side, front to back and in circular motions for 30 seconds.

Relax, and repeat twice. "This move gives you a lot of tone fairly quickly," says Becker. "And the more muscle tone you have on your lower body, the more It's going to lift your metabolic rate so you burn more calories during the day."
